The One Accord Project is dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable in Haiti by providing essential resources such as financial assistance, food, school supplies, books, medicine, and laptops to schools and orphanages across the country.
Our mission is rooted in the urgent needs of the Haitian people—especially women, children, and individuals with disabilities. With over 50% of the population under the age of 25, these young lives represent both the present and future of Haiti. Yet, they face overwhelming challenges.
Haiti is currently enduring one of the most critical humanitarian crises in its history. According to the U.S. Agency for International Development:
- 2.5 million Haitians live in extreme poverty, surviving on less than $1.12 per day.
- Nearly half of the population 48% are facing high levels of acute food insecurity.
- Over 1 million people have been internally displaced from their homes and communities due to gang violence.
- More than 90% of Port-au-Prince, the nation’s capital, is under the control of armed gangs.
- The country is experiencing severe food insecurity, civil unrest, natural disasters, and rising rates of gender-based violence—particularly affecting women and girls.
In the face of these dire conditions, The One Accord Project remains steadfast in its commitment to providing hope, opportunity, and tangible support to those who need it most.
“Haiti has one of the highest levels of food insecurity in the world. A total of 4.9 million Haitians – nearly half the population – do not have enough to eat, and 1.8 million are facing emergency levels of food insecurity.”
–World Food Programme

September 2022, One Accord distributed eight hundred pounds of food, over the counter medicines, shoes and monetary assistance to three orphanages across Haiti.
One of our goals are to provide lunches to children in Leogane and Arniquet. The cost is about $2.00 per child for a hot lunch. Our goal is to be able to service meals to 250 children in each community.

Why Black Americans Should Care About and Advocate for Haiti-Especially Now (April 2, 2025)

Program Overview
Our initiative addresses critical needs in underserved Haitian communities by focusing on three key areas: nutrition, entrepreneurship, and telehealth access. The project will directly impact families in Léogâne and Arniquet, offering sustainable solutions to hunger, poverty, and healthcare barriers. A Safe Place to Learn and Be Fed
In Haiti, more than half of the population struggles with hunger, and the World Food Programme now lists the country as one of the world’s worst hunger hotspots. Families face violence, displacement, and uncertainty, and many children arrive at school without knowing when their next meal will come.
At The One Accord Project, our two schools in Léogâne and Arniquet Haiti educate 600 children and we want to provide daily nutritious lunches to every student and staff member. We also support an orphanage where 150 children rely on us for financial assistance for food and basic necessities.
Our schools are more than classrooms—they are sanctuaries of safety, nourishment, and hope. With your support, we can ensure that children in Haiti not only learn, but eat, grow, and thrive, even in the midst of crisis.
Help us feed hope.
